Anshul Shekhon

Senior Vice President

Mr. Shekhon is a Senior Vice President and a member of Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Advisory Services business. He focuses on valuation of structured products and derivatives, specializing in credit derivatives, equity derivatives, and convertible debt. Mr. Shekhon is based in the firm’s New York office.

Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Shekhon was a Vice President at Duff & Phelps in the Financial Engineering group, where, working on behalf of the Congressional Oversight Panel, he played a key role in the valuation of first TARP investments made by the U.S. Treasury. He also worked on behalf of the bankruptcy examiner in the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy, on the valuation aspects of Lehman Brothers’ positions, and the review of quantitative methodology in structured products and Credit Default Swaps (CDS).

Earlier, Mr. Shekhon was an Associate Director at Fitch Ratings in the CDO and Quantitative Research groups, where he developed quantitative models to analyze new structured credit proposals from issuers. The structures included synthetic CDOs, credit derivative product companies (CDPCs), constant proportion debt obligations (CPDOs), and market value CLOs. He also developed the CDS valuation model used in the Fitch CDS pricing service to provide daily pricing of more than 5,000 CDS contracts. Before Fitch Ratings, he was in graduate school, where he conducted research on numerical techniques for valuation of early exercise options and convertible debt with path dependent exercise features.

Prior to a career in finance, Mr Shekhon was a professional software developer at technology startups in California and large technology firms in India.

Mr. Shekhon holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from DCR University of Science and Technology in India, an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of New Mexico, and an M.S. in Financial Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
