Brent Ferrin


Mr. Ferrin is a Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Institutions Group. He specializes in advising financial services companies on M&A, capital raising, and other corporate finance engagements. Mr. Ferrin has over 12 years of experience working with specialty finance companies (consumer, commercial, and mortgage) as well as asset managers, broker-dealers, and banks. He is based in the firm’s New York office.

Since joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Ferrin has been involved in M&A transactions, capital markets activities, and financial restructuring engagements, notably advising Darien Rowayton Bank (DRB) (student lender) on its capital raise from Patriot Financial Partners; Key Health Group (medical receivable financing) on its sale; SMART Financial (de novo pawn roll-up strategy) on raising equity and debt while simultaneously closing its first three acquisitions; FP Resources on its acquisition of First Marblehead (student lender); mortgage servicers Residential Credit Solutions (RCS) and Seneca Mortgage on sales of certain assets to Walter Investment Management and Nationstar, respectively; Creekridge Capital (equipment lessor) on its sale to Hitachi Capital America; Doral Financial on its sale of over $1 billion of Puerto Rico-based performing and non-performing residential and commercial mortgage loans; ORIX Corp. on its $2.6 billion acquisition of a 90% interest in Robeco Group; the U.S. Treasury with respect to the management and disposition of its CPP bank investments; and on the rescue financing/restructurings of CIT Group, Inc., and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. 

Mr. Ferrin graduated summa cum laude from Wake Forest University with a B.S. in Business and a concentration in Finance.
