Muir is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Data & Analytics Group. He is based in the firm's New York office.
With
over
a decade of corporate finance experience, Mr. Muir has
specialized in
the media and technology sectors,
where
he has advised on a large number of sellside, buyside, and fundraising mandates. His
notable deals prior to joining Houlihan Lokey include the sale of Bureau
van
Dijk to Moody’s,
the sale of Sequel and
Power Advocate to Verisk,
Wood
Mackenzie,
7city,
PFC Energy, Stylesight,
BENTEK Energy, Complinet, Informa’s acquisition
of Elsevier Business Intelligence, Point Carbon, New Energy Finance, VNU
Business Media Europe,
and
Dow Jones’ German E&C Trade Publications company.
Mr.
Muir was
a
Managing Director with Quayle Munro prior to its acquisition by Houlihan Lokey
in 2018. He
joined Quayle Munro following its acquisition of The van Tulleken Co
in 2008.
Previously, Mr.
Muir worked
at
Regent Associates, an independent M&A specialist in the IT, new media,
and
telecommunications sectors. He
has
also
held roles within The van Tulleken
Company, Credit
Suisse, Chase Manhattan,
and
Natwest
Financial Markets.
Mr.
Muir earned
a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics from the University of Natal,
South Africa, and holds ACMA certification.
