Mr. East is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Capital Markets Group, focusing on raising debt and equity capital across the energy space to support refinancings, recapitalizations, restructurings, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and growth capital initiatives as well as advising companies on a wide range of capital structure matters. He is based in the firm’s Houston office.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. East was the Co-Head of Energy Credit at The Carlyle Group. During his more than 12-year tenure at Carlyle, he pursued privately negotiated debt investments in North American energy and power projects and companies. Previously, Mr. East was Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions, Treasurer and Investor Relations at KGen Power Corp. Before joining KGen Power, he worked with Dynegy in several roles in the Strategy & Planning group, including Senior Director, Strategic Market Analysis and Senior Director, Strategy & Planning–Europe. Mr. East’s responsibilities during that period included managing the analysis of M&A transactions, originating structured transactions, and structuring commodity hedges in the energy commodity markets.
Mr. East graduated from the University of Houston with a B.B.A. and holds an MBA from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University.
