Mr.
Lyness is
a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Capital Markets Group, focusing on working
with
clients to structure and syndicate debt transactions for leveraged buyouts,
acquisitions, recapitalizations,
and
general corporate purposes. Mr. Lyness has
over 32 years
of banking and
capital markets experience. He is based in the firm’s New York office.
Before
joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Lyness
was a Senior Managing Director at GE Capital, leading the teams covering
Financial Sponsors and TMT, and then a Senior Managing Director in Capital
Markets at Antares Capital after the spinoff from GE Capital. Prior to that, he
was a Managing Director in Leveraged Finance at JP Morgan Securities, where he
structured loans and high-yield bond solutions for Financial Sponsors and
various corporate clients.
Before
JP Morgan Securities, Mr. Lyness
was the Head of Leveraged Finance
at Barclays Capital, where he implemented a client coverage strategy for
Financial Sponsors. Prior to that role, he was a Vice President
at MNC Credit Corp – Maryland National Bank, where he initiated a Syndications
program and was responsible for underwriting and distributing highly leveraged
transactions, primarily in the middle market. Before that, Mr. Lyness
was an Assistant Vice President with the National Bank of Canada, where he
established the firm’s U.S. loan syndication group. He began his career in
corporate finance as a financial analyst with Chase Manhattan Bank.
Mr.
Lyness
holds a B.A. in Economics and English from Boston College. He also serves on
the Board of Directors of the United Way of Westchester and Putnam County and
the Board of Trustees of Hebron Academy in Maine.
