Mr. McCarthy is a Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Private Funds Group (PFG), responsible for raising capital for alternative asset management firms in respect to the formation of new private equity and debt funds. He is based in the firm’s New York office.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. McCarthy was with American Capital, Ltd., a publicly traded alternative asset manager with approximately $100 billion under management. As a member of American Capital’s Equity Capital Markets team, he focused on raising capital from private and public markets in addition to managing the sale of large portfolios of assets ($100 million–$1 billion). Prior to American Capital, Mr. McCarthy was a Manager with Protiviti Inc., a global consultancy, where he advised private equity firms and middle-market companies on acquisitions and restructurings.
Mr. McCarthy holds a B.S.B.A. from Saint Joseph’s University and an MBA from the University of Maryland. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
