Ms. Gao is a Vice President in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Capital Markets groups. She is based in the firm’s Sydney office.

Ms. Gao’s responsibilities focus on complex strategic advisory, distressed, and restructuring-related engagements, advising both companies and creditors. Her notable transactions at Houlihan Lokey include CF Asia Pacific, Eclipx Group, LakeCoal, and Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal.

Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, she worked for Fort Street Advisers, a Sydney-based independent corporate advisory firm. 

Ms. Gao has advised on a wide range of engagements across corporate and government M&A, strategic reviews, capital raisings, and complex refinancings and restructurings in a range of sectors. Her select transaction experience includes advising on the $2 billion refinance and recapitalization of Reliance Rail; BBRC’s $500 million sale of Bras N Things to HanesBrands; and Navis Capital’s $300 million sale of Retail Apparel Group to The Foschini Group.

Ms. Gao earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance with First-Class Honours and a Bachelor of Economics, both from the University of New South Wales. She is a CFA charterholder.
