Marshall Taylor

Managing Director

Mr. Taylor is a Managing Director and the National Healthcare Leader for Houlihan Lokey’s Transaction Advisory Services. With more than 13 years of transaction-related experience, Mr. Taylor specializes in financial accounting due diligence projects for both private equity firms and strategic buyers, and advises clients on the assessment of earnings quality, leverage recapitalizations, purchase accounting, SEC reporting, and GAAP accounting, as well as complex acquisitions involving carve-outs of public and private companies. He is based in the firm’s Dallas office.

Mr. Taylor focuses on serving clients in the healthcare and life sciences industries, including acute and sub-acute care hospitals, anesthesia services and pain management, disease management, durable medical equipment, emergency department and hospitalist staffing, home health, hospice, intraoperative neuromonitoring, long-term care, managed care, outpatient physical therapy, skilled nursing facilities, specialty and institutional pharmaceuticals, and substance abuse, as well as other healthcare service organizations. Additionally, he has performed financial accounting due diligence projects across various other industries, including manufacturing, entertainment, transportation, consumer products, and software.

Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Taylor was a Managing Director in the Alvarez & Marsal Transaction Advisory Group. Previously, he was a Senior Manager with the Transaction Advisory Services practice of Ernst & Young LLP. He began his career with the Audit & Business Advisory practice of Arthur Andersen. 

Mr. Taylor earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Tennessee. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Tennessee, and an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). He is also an active member of Leadership Health Care. Additionally, he has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Nashville. Mr. Taylor was honored as the 2015 Outstanding Young Alum for the Haslam College of Business.
