Mr. Hughes is a Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Business Services Group. For nearly two decades, he has been an advisor (or principal) in 100+ enterprise-level transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital formation, and complex debt restructurings. Mr. Hughes is based in the firm’s New York office.
Mr. Hughes has been a trusted advisor to business owners, financial sponsors, and public company management teams in time-sensitive situations. He specializes in advising private, middle-market companies, navigating important corporate events. Mr. Hughes also possesses meaningful experience working with businesses enduring financial distress and insolvency issues as well as cash flow issues resulting from rapid growth.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Hughes built and led the corporate development (M&A) functions for both Grant Thornton LLP and EisnerAmper | TowerBrook. At both firms, he served on the management teams and investment committee and reported directly to the CEO and board of directors. Mr. Hughes began his career with Harris Williams & Co.
Mr. Hughes holds a B.A. from St. Joseph’s University, an MSF from Boston College, an MSL from Cornell Law School, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
