Sam Kramer

Vice President

Mr. Kramer is a Vice President in Houlihan Lokey’s Corporate Finance business and Financial Institutions Group, focused on the insurance sector. He is based in the firm’s New York office.

Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Kramer was Vice President of Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions at AmTrust Financial Services Inc., a Fortune 500 P&C insurer, where he focused on acquiring insurance carriers and distributers, including PDP Group, First Nationwide Title Agency, AmeriHealth, and ANV.

Before joining AmTrust, Mr. Kramer was a Senior Vice President at Sherman & Company, where he executed multiple M&A transactions on both the buyside and sellside, including Coverys’ acquisition of Preferred Professional Insurance Co., the sale of Alliance United to Kemper, and the sale of iPartners to SNL Financial. 

Mr. Kramer began his investment banking career as a senior banker at Newman Lowther & Associates, a South African-based boutique focused on cross-border mergers and acquisitions. Prior to investment banking, Mr. Kramer led the workout of numerous P&C reinsurance transactions at Centre Reinsurance Co. and started his career at Arthur Andersen LLP, where he focused on providing audit and consulting services predominantly to insurers in the U.S. and Bermuda. 

Mr. Kramer qualified as a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.Com. in Accounting and Finance from McGill University, where he graduated with distinction.
