Experienced Private Equity and Distressed Debt Investor Harry Green Joins Firm to Originate and Manage Private Market Transactions
NEW YORK – December 11, 2013 – Houlihan Lokey, the international investment bank, today announced that Harry Green has joined the firm’s Illiquid Financial Asset (IFA) practice as a Director with a primary focus on transaction execution, further strengthening IFA’s senior execution capabilities. Mr. Green is based in New York, reporting to Jeff Hammer and Paul Sanabria, Co-Heads of IFA.
Mr. Green previously worked in the Specialty Finance and Private Portfolio Group at Plainfield Asset Management, where he actively managed the Specialty Finance portfolio and ultimately was responsible for liquidation of these and other illiquid assets under the firm's management. For most of the prior decade, he worked in private equity, most notably for six years at Doughty Hanson & Co.
“Houlihan Lokey’s IFA practice continues to experience significant growth in the number and type of transactions we are executing –- a growth which requires seasoned, experienced deal professionals to handle the increasing complexity of our business,” said Mr. Hammer. “Harry Green is a perfect match for our business, as he has worked at both private equity and hedge funds and has a deeply engrained principal perspective that we believe makes for a better advisor. We’re delighted that he’s joined the team,” he added.
“Having experienced firsthand the IFA team’s expertise and capabilities as a client, I am confident that I’m joining a first-class platform at Houlihan Lokey,” said Mr. Green. “This is a particularly exciting time to be joining IFA given its current expansion plans and recent track record of success. I’m excited to be part of this group,” he added.
Mr. Green holds a Bachelor of Commerce with honors from the University of Witwatersrand and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
