KKR’s recent acquisition of Clinisupplies is the latest example of a private equity firm investing in the buildout of an international medical devices platform, focusing on products as well as channel. According to Paul Tomasic, Managing Director and Head of European Healthcare at Houlihan Lokey, there are likely to be more such deals, as PE firms build healthcare platforms to capture the growing trend of managing care outside of the hospital environment.
