Houlihan Lokey Advises AIA Contract Documents on Its Strategic Investment From WCAS

Transaction: AIA Contract Documents - True Wind - WCAS

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that AIA Contract Documents (ACD), a portfolio company of True Wind Capital, has received a strategic investment from Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (WCAS).

ACD, a leading risk management and workflow platform for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, announced that it has received a majority investment from WCAS, a global investment firm focusing on the technology and healthcare sectors. The partnership will accelerate ACD’s ongoing innovation across its end-to-end risk management and collaboration solutions.

ACD’s mission-critical SaaS platform supports key stakeholders across the construction lifecycle, leveraging industry-leading content backed by more than 135 years as the gold standard for AEC legal documents. Purpose-built to serve the unique needs of the AEC industry, ACD’s software platform creates trust, reduces risk, and accelerates project delivery for constituents across the construction lifecycle. Today, ACD serves more than 40,000 architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and attorneys.

WCAS is partnering with The American Institute of Architects (AIA), existing investor True Wind Capital, and the ACD management team, and WCAS’s investment will enable further advancements in technology to drive ACD’s growth and better serve the AEC industry amid expanding risk, increasing digitization, and the emerging use of artificial intelligence.

Houlihan Lokey served as the financial advisor to ACD and True Wind Capital. This transaction highlights the firm’s continued momentum in construction technology and vertical software.
