Houlihan Lokey is pleased to share that Matter Management Enterprises, LLC (AmWaste) has received a growth investment by 3i Infrastructure Partners (3i). Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in April 2010, AmWaste is a Georgia-based, privately owned vertically integrated solid waste company with infrastructure in Georgia, Louisiana and Alabama. AmWaste provides residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal waste services in the regions it serves. Its locations provide comprehensive solid waste services that include collection operations, transfer stations, and end disposal, along with portable restroom services. Employing more than 500 people, the company meets the needs of over 300,000 customers through its infrastructure, which includes eight landfills, 10 transfer stations, and one MRF, solidifying its position as a leading player in the waste management sector in the Southeast.

3i is a global investor across Infrastructure and Private Equity with portfolio companies present in 80 countries worldwide. With offices in the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, 3i has approximately $27 billion of capital under management, with oversight from a global team of over 90 investment professionals. Currently, 3i partners with over 50 middle-market management teams across its portfolio and has invested over $2.5 billion of equity in North American businesses over the last few years.

Houlihan Lokey served as the exclusive financial advisor of AmWaste.

This transaction underscores Houlihan Lokey's continued leading position and ongoing achievements in guiding clients within the environmental services sector, particularly showcasing the firm's substantial market presence in advising on solid waste transactions. Notable solid waste transactions within the past two years include the sale of Coastal Waste & Recycling to Macquarie, Rogue Waste to Waste Connections, Lone Star Disposal to Waste Connections, Solterra Recycling to Interstate Waste Services, GreenWaste to Macquarie, and advising on Ares' equity investment in Interstate Waste Services.
