Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Apleona Wolfferts (Apleona), a supra-regional provider of building technology, has agreed to acquire Smart Energy Group (SEG). The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.

Apleona Wolfferts, part of the Apleona Group, is a German provider of building technology with more than 1,700 employees at 25 sites. Headquartered in Cologne, its clients include prestigious industrial companies, property developers, general contractors, and project developers, as well as public clients such as universities, hospitals, museums, and trade fair companies.

SEG, headquartered in Cologne, offers a comprehensive portfolio of technical building services for planning, installation, and services in the fields of electrical engineering, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), and sanitary engineering. It employs around 260 people across six sites in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse. SEG comprises four units: Oertel & Prümm, Lentzen Gebäudetechnik, Matthias Frischke, and gpc technologies.

The acquisition expands the range of technical building services offered by the Building Technology division at Apleona Group, one of Europe’s leading providers of integrated facility management. The goal is to become the decarbonisation partner of choice for technical building services and operations.
