Houlihan Lokey Advises Base4

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that AXE Holdings, LLC, dba Base4, has been acquired by Evriholder Products, LLC (Evriholder), a portfolio company of Kainos Capital LP (Kainos).

Established in 2003 by Brad Berkley, Base4 was founded with a core objective in mind—to bring quality consumer products to market at lightning speed. Base4 has since built a leadership position in the impulse category throughout North America, with 2,000+ SKUs spanning the retail footprint, including toys/licensed toys, bath and body, cosmetics, BBQ accessories, pet products, kitchen storage, and general merchandise. The company provides end-to-end support to its retail partners through quality products, design capabilities, IP management, sourcing, warehousing, and distribution capabilities. Base4 offers products through its collection of owned brands, portfolio of licenses, and private label offerings.

Evriholder was established in Brea, California, in 1995. It is an innovative company that specializes in a wide variety of household categories, including kitchen, produce, baking, barware, bath and beauty, cleaning, pet, storage and organization, toy, seasonal, and more. Evriholder is an impulse industry leader and has innovative products in nearly all retail channels, including specialty, mass merchants, supermarkets, drug stores, hardware stores, club, catalog, online, and more. The company has a strong international foothold, with markets in Europe, Australia, and Latin America.

Kainos, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is a private equity firm focused on the food and consumer products and services sectors. Kainos seeks to build strategically relevant food and consumer companies by leveraging its industry experience and relationships to help partner businesses capitalize on their growth opportunities and improve profitability. Many of the partners at Kainos have been investing in the food and consumer industry for more than 20 years, and several were senior leaders in the industry prior to joining Kainos.
