Houlihan Lokey Advises Bencis
Bencis has engaged in a partnership with KODIAK
Financing Advisor
Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Bencis has entered into a partnership with KODIAK GmbH (KODIAK) to jointly build the leading European provider of project management, consulting, and engineering services for the European energy infrastructure sector. Houlihan Lokey acted as the exclusive financing advisor to Bencis. The transaction closed on 1 September 2026.
Founded in 2017 by Björn Dobberstein and Marcel Traber, KODIAK supports its clients across the entire lifecycle of large-scale energy infrastructure projects—from initial strategic advisory through technical execution to on-site management. Since its foundation, KODIAK has become a respected independent partner for transmission system operators (TSOs) and energy project developers in Europe. Today, KODIAK counts major TSOs, local grid operators, and project developers among its clients, and is involved in some of the largest on- and offshore infrastructure projects in Europe.
Beyond its deep technical expertise, KODIAK is also distinguished by its dynamic approach, drawing not only on its own employees but also on an international pool of highly qualified service partners, enabling it to respond flexibly to client demands.
KODIAK helps its clients implement ambitious expansion plans for European power grids and the build-out of renewable energy. In addition to the growth opportunities this creates, KODIAK plans to leverage targeted acquisitions to accelerate its growth, offer clients an even broader and deeper range of services, and expand into new regions and markets.
Houlihan Lokey ran the financing process end-to-end, from lender selection through to documentation, and negotiated terms specifically structured around the group’s buy-and-build agenda.
