Houlihan Lokey Advises BlackFin Capital Partners on a Minority GP Stake Investment From Blue Owl

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that BlackFin Capital Partners has reached an agreement to receive a Minority GP Stake Investment from funds managed by Blue Owl Capital Inc.

Houlihan Lokey’s GP Advisory team served as sole financial advisor to BlackFin. Over the past 16 months, the GP Advisory team has served as our client’s sole advisor on seven GP Stake transactions and one GP control M&A transaction.

Founded by industry entrepreneurs in 2009, BlackFin is Europe’s leading PE and VC firm focusing exclusively on financial services buyouts and FinTechs. In 2024, BlackFin raised a €1.8bn Buyout Fund IV and, in 2022, raised a €390mm Venture Fund II. The firm has 6 offices and a team of 60 investment professionals.

The investment from Blue Owl provides BlackFin with primary capital to continue growing and delivering performance to its investors. A strengthened balance sheet further reinforces the long-term alignment between BlackFin partners, team, and investors.

The transaction also accelerates the broadening of BlackFin’s partnership. Concurrently with the investment, BlackFin is promoting a new generation of five additional equity partners, expanding its ownership group to 14 partners in total.
