Houlihan Lokey Advises Cinerius Financial Partners

Transaction: Cinerius Summit Partners Ik Partners

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Cinerius Financial Partners (Cinerius or the Cinerius Group), a portfolio company of Summit Partners (Summit), has received a majority investment from IK Partners (IK) alongside significant reinvestment from Summit, the management team, and other shareholders. The transaction was completed on 30 January 2024.

Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, Cinerius is a leading platform for independent wealth managers (IWMs) in German-speaking European regions. The platform has grown to include seven high-quality partner companies offering a range of wealth management solutions, including proprietary funds and advisory services. Through its partner companies, the Cinerius Group manages assets for over 5,500 clients. With 13 locations and more than 140 employees across Germany and Switzerland, the group collectively manages over CHF10 billion in assets.

Through its platform, Cinerius is seeking to promote the growth of its IWMs by offering access to a range of middle-office and back-office functions, including HR-related services as well as support in areas such as compliance, regulatory affairs, and marketing.

With IK joining as a majority shareholder, Cinerius aims to solidify its position as a leading wealth management platform by pursuing organic growth initiatives, investing in its people and technology, and growing its group of partner companies through a dedicated M&A strategy.

Houlihan Lokey served as the sole financial advisor to Cinerius. This transaction further strengthens Houlihan Lokey's leadership in the European wealth management and pensions sector, where the team has recently advised on a number of transactions, including Säkra, Saltus Group, Solomon, Ascot Lloyd, Cardale Asset Management, Wren Sterling, and Formuesforvaltning.
