Houlihan Lokey Advises Eagle Leasing Company

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Eagle Leasing Company, Inc. (Eagle), a leading, super-regional provider of portable storage, office, and trailer solutions servicing the greater Northeast U.S. market, has been acquired by Rent-A-Container (RAC), a portfolio company of Kinderhook Industries, LLC (Kinderhook). The transaction closed on July 1, 2025.
Founded in 1967 and headquartered in Orange, Connecticut, Eagle offers a high-quality fleet of ~18,000 rental storage containers, office containers, storage trailers, office trailers, and road trailers. Owned and operated by a fourth-generation family, the company employs more than 140 individuals across four strategic locations, making it the largest platform of scale in the fast-growing Northeast U.S. market.
Eagle has established a premier market position through its reputation for exceptional service and a high-touch customer engagement strategy, driving sustained growth and diversified revenues across multiple attractive end markets and blue-chip customers. Purpose-built over decades by the Eagle family, the company benefits from attractive asset economics, significant operational depth, and an extensive, high-quality rental fleet, reinforcing its position as a leading provider in the portable storage industry.
Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, RAC is a leading provider of shipping containers and trailer leasing solutions for storage usage. RAC specializes in leasing a variety of products from its fleet of ~6,800 owned assets, including standard 20’ and 40’ containers, high cube containers, specialty containers, container offices, and storage trailers. RAC was recapitalized by Kinderhook in February 2023 as a carved-out entity from its previous parent company, VESTA Modular.
