Houlihan Lokey Advises Sorrento Sapori e Tradizioni

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce the sale of Sorrento Sapori e Tradizioni to IDAK Food Group (IDAK), a portfolio company of TowerBrook Capital Partners. The transaction closed on 30 June 2025.
Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Eboli, Italy, Sorrento Sapori e Tradizioni (SST) is a leading player in the production of high-quality made-in-Italy premium frozen pizza snacks, supplying national and international airline caterers, catering companies, and retailers.
The company, which combines artisanal heritage with industrial scale, launched the Gusto Sorrento brand in 2018 and experienced significant growth in recent years, with around 100 employees contributing to its success.
SST product offerings are divided into two main categories: (i) pizza snacks, featuring naturally leavened, hand-shaped pizza dough and stone for both retail and food service segments and (ii) desserts.
The company is recognised by clients for the superior quality and taste of its products thanks to its (i) well-equipped product facility, (ii) innovation capabilities, leveraging a market-leading R&D know-how, and (iii) efficient organisation structure with a strong management team at all levels.
Established in 2019 and headquartered in Switzerland, IDAK is a premium frozen food producer operating through three companies: KADI (frozen potato-based products), Margherita (frozen and chilled pizza products), and Romer’s (frozen bakery products and snacks). Acquired by TowerBrook Capital Partners in 2024, the group serves both the branded and private label segments, addressing the foodservice, retail, and bake-off channels, primarily in Europe.
Houlihan Lokey acted as the sole financial advisor to the shareholders of SST. The transaction further demonstrates Houlihan Lokey’s strength in the global frozen food sector and the benefits of strong local relationships coupled with deep industry expertise.
