Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that it has advised Derrick Petroleum Services, 1Derrick Ltd., and 1Derrick Inc. (collectively, 1Derrick), the global oil & gas analytics firm, on its sale to Drillinginfo Inc. The transaction was completed on June 4, 2018.

Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Bangalore, India, 1Derrick is a leading provider of business research and intelligence in the oil & gas industry, serving more than 150 clients globally, including oil & gas majors, independent exploration and production companies, PE firms, and investment banks. The business provides data and analysis across the upstream, midstream, downstream, and oilfield services verticals. The acquisition positions Drillinginfo as the global leader in delivering intelligence on oil & gas mergers, acquisitions, divestment transactions, lending activity, equity investments, and assets currently for sale.

Drillinginfo is based in Austin, Texas, and is the leading energy SaaS and data & analytics company that delivers business-critical insights to oil & gas industries through a state-of-the-art SaaS platform. The Drillinginfo solution delivers value across the upstream and downstream supply chain, empowering exploration and production, oilfield services, midstream, and financial services companies to be more proactive, efficient, and competitive.

This transaction adds to the extensive track record of Houlihan Lokey's Data & Analytics Group and to recent successes in the segment, including the sale of PowerAdvocate to Verisk Analytics; the sale of Fulcrum Financial Data to Fitch Group; the sale of Dynamo Software to Francisco Partners; the sale of Bureau van Dijk to Moody's; the acquisition of BISAM by FactSet; and the sale of Message Automation to Broadridge. The transactions mentioned apart from PowerAdvocate and Fulcrum Financial Data were closed at Quayle Munro prior to its acquisition by Houlihan Lokey to establish the Data & Analytics Group.
