Houlihan Lokey Advises Children and Teen Dental Group

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Children and Teen Dental Group (C&TDG), a portfolio company of MSouth Equity Partners (MSouth), has been acquired by a family office. The transaction closed on March 19, 2021.

Founded in 2015 and based in Alpharetta, Georgia, C&TDG is a pedodontic and orthodontic-focused dental support organization (DSO), supporting offices across Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Pennsylvania. The company has been affiliated with 23 locations since its founding in 2011.

MSouth Equity Partners is a private equity investment firm that provides equity capital and expertise to support management teams in acquisitions and recapitalizations of lower middle-market companies. Based in Atlanta, MSouth invests primarily in the South with a consistent focus on management buyouts of business services, specialty distribution, niche manufacturing, healthcare services, and telecommunications/media companies. With over $2.2 billion under management across four funds, MSouth is a successor to Cravey, Green & Wahlen, Inc., which was founded in 1984.

This transaction further strengthens Houlihan Lokey’s leadership position in the dental space, having advised on more than 26 closed transactions in the sector since 2016. Houlihan Lokey’s Healthcare Group is among the largest dedicated healthcare investment banking groups in the country. In 2020, the group closed 22 transactions and was ranked the No. 1 M&A advisor for U.S. healthcare transactions under $1 billion by Refinitiv (formerly Thomson Reuters).

Houlihan Lokey served as the exclusive financial advisor to C&TDG and assisted in initiating, structuring, and negotiating the transaction on its behalf.
