Houlihan Lokey Advises Enra Specialist Finance

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that the ultimate shareholders of Enra Specialist Finance Limited (Enra) have sold Enra to Elliott Advisors (UK) Limited, an affiliate of Elliott Investment Management LP, a global investment management company. The transaction closed on 2 September, 2022.

Founded in 2002, Enra is a leading nonbank mortgage lender in the UK, with a diverse property-secured lending proposition.

Exponent Private Equity, a London-based private equity firm with a long track record of backing founder-led businesses in sectors including financial services, acquired a majority stake in Enra in 2017 with the current management retaining a significant minority stake.

Elliott Investment Management LP manages approximately $51.5 billion of assets. Its flagship fund, Elliott Associates, LP, was founded in 1977, making it one of the oldest funds under continuous management. The Elliott funds’ investors include pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, funds-of-funds, high net worth individuals and families, and employees of the firm.

This transaction follows Houlihan Lokey’s involvement in advising Enra on a £110 million debt refinancing in 2021.

This most recent transaction further strengthens Houlihan Lokey’s leadership in the financial services sector. Other recent deals include advising Tandem on the acquisition of Oplo; Atalaya on its investment into Allica Bank; and Fortress on the sale of Foundation Home Loans.
