Houlihan Lokey Advises Enra

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Enra Specialist Finance Ltd. (Enra), a portfolio company of Exponent Private Equity LLP (Exponent), has successfully completed a £110 million debt refinancing to (i) refinance various existing debt facilities and (ii) cater for additional growth across the group’s existing and prospective loan pools. The transaction closed on 12 August 2021.

Enra provides lending and broking services to specialist mortgage and secured loan customers in the UK, with a particular focus on serving the professional investment industry and underserved retail markets. The company has been regulated by the FCA since 2004 and is majority owned by private equity firm Exponent, with the founders and management controlling a significant minority stake.

Established in 2004, Exponent is a London-based private equity firm focused on transformational investments in multiple sectors, including media, consumer and leisure, financial services, and business services. Exponent has raised over £2.9 billion to date across four funds and aims to acquire companies headquartered across Europe with enterprise values between €150 million and €500 million.

The transaction allowed Enra to further simplify and optimise its capital structure.

Houlihan Lokey acted as the exclusive financing advisor to Enra and Exponent to arrange, structure, and negotiate the financing package.
