Transaction: Houlihan Lokey Advises Harris Broadband

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Harris Broadband, LP (Harris) has been acquired by Grande Communications, a division of Astound Broadband, the sixth largest cable operator in the United States. Harris is a leading provider of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services, offering high-speed internet, video, and voice services in areas of Central Texas. The acquisition adds over 6,000 customers, 12,500 homes passed, and 150 miles of fiber plant to Grande’s operations in Texas. This transaction accelerates Grande’s broadband expansion and increases its network within Central Texas. The transaction closed on October 1, 2021.

Founded in 2005, Harris currently operates in Brownwood and Early, Texas, providing the latest FTTH technology to deliver high-speed internet, video, and voice services to customers. In addition to its extensive FTTH options, Harris has deployed a reliable Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON), Local Area Networks (LAN), and Wide Area Networks (WAN) in and around the Brownwood and Early areas. The union between Harris and Grande brings broadband expansion opportunities to underserved markets and will help bridge the digital divide in areas of Central Texas.

Founded 18 years ago, Grande is a Texas-based broadband communications company with a full suite of internet, TV, and phone services for residential and business customers through its state-of-the-art, high-capacity, hybrid fiber-optic network. Grande serves over 160,000 customers across Texas, providing better value and flexibility in internet, TV, and phone services.
