Houlihan Lokey Advises Kimbrer Computer

Transaction: Kimbrer Computer Trill Impact Renewtech

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Kimbrer Computer ApS (Kimbrer Computer), a leading supplier of used and refurbished IT enterprise hardware and portfolio company of Trill Impact, a leading private equity firm with a strong focus on sustainability investments, has acquired Renewtech.

Based in Denmark, Kimbrer Computer is a supplier of used IT equipment. The acquisition of Renewtech is part of its journey to become one of the leading companies within circular IT in Europe and marks the first step for the Swedish investment fund Trill Impact, the owner of Kimbrer Computer, in consolidating the European market for circular IT.

“Circular IT is inherently impactful by significantly reducing the CO2 footprint on a very heavy CO2-producing product group. We believe that this market is fundamentally attractive, with very strong fundamental growth drivers supported by sustainability and regulatory trends. This aligns perfectly with Trill Impact’s focus on sustainable and impactful investment,” explained Nina Hoffmann von Holten, Investment Director at Trill Impact Advisory in Denmark, focusing on Impact Private Equity.

“We have been working closely together for many years. We know each other, our values, and our ways of working. This also applies to many of our employees. This creates a good basis for the acquisition because we know there is already mutual respect,” said Bjarne Aarup, CEO of Kimbrer.

“Renewtech has been on an incredible journey, and I’m pleased that now, with Kimbrer, we can create an even stronger position in the market as we are combining a lot of knowledge and experience in circular IT,” said Roger van Norden, CEO of Renewtech.

Houlihan Lokey acted as buyside adviser to Trill Impact and Kimbrer Computer on this deal.
