Houlihan Lokey Advises Retail Insight

Transaction: Houlihan Lokey Advises Retail Insight

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Retail Insight (RI), a Navis Capital Partners portfolio company, has been acquired by Ventiga Capital Partners. The transaction closed on July 12, 2019.

Founded in 2005, RI is a U.K.-based provider of store-focused solutions in retail operation analytics to global retailers and CPG companies. The analytical SaaS solutions drive enhanced decision-making, enabling blue-chip customers to understand and measure operational levers, optimize pricing and markdowns, reduce waste, and ensure efficient sales and promotion execution. RI works with leading global retailers, including Walmart, ASDA, and Woolworths. The sale allows RI to continue its successful expansion and to further establish itself as a leading provider of solutions in retail analytics.

Navis Capital Partners, founded in 1998, manages approximately $5 billion in public and private equity capital across Asia. Navis contributes both capital and management expertise to a limited number of well-positioned companies with the objective of directing strategic, operational, and financial improvements. Navis originally invested in RI in 2011.

Ventiga Capital Partners is a private equity firm based in London, focusing on investments in the U.K. and the Nordic and DACH regions.

Houlihan Lokey served as the exclusive financial advisor to Navis Capital Partners on the sale. This transaction adds to the extensive track record of Houlihan Lokey's Data & Analytics Group and to recent successes in the segment, including the sale of PowerAdvocate to Verisk Analytics, Fulcrum Financial Data to Fitch Group, Dynamo to Francisco Partners, Bureau van Dijk to Moody's, Message Automation to Broadridge, and the acquisition of BISAM by FactSet. The transactions mentioned, apart from PowerAdvocate and Fulcrum Financial Data, were closed at Quayle Munro prior to its acquisition by Houlihan Lokey to establish the Data & Analytics Group.
