Houlihan Lokey Advises Reveal Data

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Reveal Data, a portfolio company of Gallant Capital, has acquired NexLP. The transaction closed on August 11, 2020.

Incorporated in 2008 and also based in Chicago, Illinois, Reveal Data Corporation offers eDiscovery software, a cloud-based software solution that combines processing, document review, and analysis and production tools within a scalable solution. It also provides data analysis, online document review, and project management software solutions.

Gallant Capital Partners, LLC, is a private equity firm founded in 2018 and based out of Los Angeles, California, that specializes in buyouts and carve-outs of lower middle-market companies. The firm strategically focuses on companies across technology, industrial, and business services verticals in particular. It seeks to make control investments in targets with EBITDA of approximately $5 million to $25 million. The firm prefers to take a majority stake in companies with a particular focus on individually held/family firms or corporate divestitures.

Founded in 2013 and based in Chicago, Illinois, NexLP Inc. develops an AI cognitive computing platform, Story Engine, which is a SaaS solution that enables users to visually identify and understand major players and topics in their data, utilize pattern detection to find key events and anomalies, understand the context of a story with tone and work shift, prepare for interviews and depositions with profiles and summarized facts, and identify money, dates, people, locations, and organizations. It has a broad customer portfolio and serves legal, security, compliance, and human resources markets.

Houlihan Lokey served as the exclusive financial advisor to Reveal Data and assisted in structuring and negotiating the transaction on its behalf. The transaction is emblematic of the group’s continued success advising companies offering verticalized software solutions, with a growing presence in the legal and compliance software domains.
