Houlihan Lokey Advises Säkra

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Säkra, a portfolio company of Adelis Equity Partners (Adelis), has been acquired by international private equity firm Cinven. The transaction was closed on 15 February 2023.

Founded in 1990, Säkra is one of Sweden’s largest insurance intermediaries, providing life and non-life insurance products as well as pension and wealth management services to more than 35,000 SME clients and over 115,000 individual customers.

In March 2020, Adelis took over as the majority shareholder of Säkra. Since then, Säkra has experienced significant growth both organically and by consolidating the industry through acquisitions. The company has more than doubled its turnover and had strong profit growth during the period whilst building up a central organisation and developing digital solutions. Thanks to its unique model of local presence and customer-oriented “Säkra spirit,” it is one of Sweden’s leading brokers today, with more than 350 employees in approximately 60 offices across the country.

Säkra is now ready for the next phase and is therefore bringing in the international private equity firm Cinven as the new majority owner.

Houlihan Lokey served as the sole sellside financial advisor to Adelis and Säkra. This most recent transaction further strengthens Houlihan Lokey’s leadership in the European insurance distribution and wealth management sectors.
