Transaction: Houlihan Lokey Advises Schauenburg Hose Technology

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Schauenburg Hose Technology’s (part of Germany based Schauenburg Technology SE, “Schauenburg”) medical tubing business, GlobalMed Inc., a subsidiary of Schauenburg-Truplast (jointly, “GMI”), has been acquired by Molded Devices Inc. (MDI), a portfolio company of U.S. private equity firm TruArc Partners.

GMI is a pure-play medical tubing manufacturer with more than 40 years of plastic extrusion expertise serving the world’s leading medical device OEMs in the fields of sleep apnea, ventilation, surgical (smoke evacuation), anesthesia, and respiratory. GMI is headquartered in Trenton, Ontario, Canada, with a facility in Guangzhou, China.

MDI is a global and vertically integrated manufacturer that produces various complex, highly engineered injection molded components and assemblies used in medical devices, aerospace, and industrial applications. Headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, MDI has dedicated production facilities across the United States, Mexico, China, and Canada.

Houlihan Lokey served as the lead financial advisor to Schauenburg and GMI and assisted in initiating, structuring, and negotiating the transaction on their behalf. This deal highlights the firm’s continued success advising specialty manufacturing businesses in fast-growing end markets.
