Houlihan Lokey Advises Synolia

Transaction: Houlihan Lokey Advises Synolia

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Meanings Capital Partners has acquired a minority stake in Synolia. The deal closed on 6 April 2022 and the transaction value is undisclosed.

Founded in 2004, Synolia is both a web agency and an IT consulting system integrator for SMEs in France, Chile, and, very soon, Canada. Based out of Lyon, France, Synolia has extensive coverage across the country through its three main offices and more than 100 experts that build e-commerce websites, integrating a variety of CRM, workflow, marketing, and sales automation tools for a client base of midsized B2B and B2C customers. Synolia distinguishes itself from other agencies through its long-standing relationships with various software providers, for which Synolia is often the first historic solution partner—both globally (Sugarcrm, Qlik) and in France (Zendesk)—as well as a frontrunner in terms of reputation.

The company generated an average recurring revenue of 59% over the past three years, with a 12% CAGR between 2017 and 2021. Following the transaction, the company’s new management team will be led by two of Synolia’s four founders, Pascal Brunel and Vincent Rollin, and assisted by a handful of long-standing employees.

Based in Paris, Meanings Capital Partners (formerly Meeschaert Capital Partners) assists and finances the growth and transformation of small and midsized companies, achieving a turnover of up to €150 million, and currently has €750 million under management.

Houlihan Lokey served as the exclusive financial advisor to Synolia and its shareholders and assisted in initiating, structuring, and negotiating all aspects of the transaction on its behalf. This deal represents another successful transaction for Houlihan Lokey in the IT services and digital marketing space.
