Houlihan Lokey Advises IRPLAST

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce the sale of IRPLAST S.p.A., a leading manufacturer of simultaneously stretched biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films, label, and tape solutions, and portfolio company of Cheyne Strategic Value Credit (Cheyne), to Toppan Specialty Films, a subsidiary of TOPPAN Holdings Inc. (TSE:7911) (TOPPAN). The transaction was signed on 21 March 2025. The closing of the acquisition is subject to the usual closing conditions.
IRPLAST is a leading player engaged in the design and production of innovative, customized BOPP films for roll-fed labels, adhesive tapes, and multipack solutions for the food and beverage, dairy, and personal and home care markets.
The company is vertically integrated, managing the entire process from film production to printing, coating, and cutting the finished product, with a business model entirely focused on environmental sustainability. Driven by an entrepreneurial vision committed to sustainability, IRPLAST has invested in reducing the weight and thickness of films, designing mono-material solutions for complete recyclability, using raw materials from renewable sources and chemical recycling, and reusing production waste, resulting in a reduction of CO2 emissions.
