Founded in 2017, NuxtLabs is a pioneering software company dedicated to improving the developer experience for building high-performance, full-stack web applications. Its flagship open-source framework, Nuxt, is trusted by hundreds of thousands of developers and used by some of the world’s largest companies, with more than 1 million downloads per week. Nitro, its universal server engine, enables consistency across frameworks, platforms, and workloads, powering APIs, AI agents, and more. Under the MIT license, Nuxt and Nitro will remain open-source projects with a public roadmap and open governance.
Joining Vercel brings together two organizations that share a long-term commitment to open source innovation and the open web. Vercel’s portfolio includes major frameworks and tools such as Next.js, SvelteKit, Turborepo, and AI SDK, reinforcing its leading role in open-source and frontend development. The combination strengthens Vercel’s position as a key contributor to the next generation of web frameworks and developer productivity tools.
