Houlihan Lokey Advises Rayonier Advanced Materials

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce the successful placement of a $700 million unitranche term loan for Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc. (RYAM). Proceeds were used to refinance the company’s existing 2026 senior secured notes and 2027 senior secured term loan as well as fund transaction-related fees and expenses. The transaction closed on October 28, 2024, and funded on November 7.

RYAM (NYSE:RYAM) is a global leader in cellulose-based technologies, including high-purity cellulose specialties, a natural polymer commonly used in the production of filters, food, pharmaceuticals, and other industrial applications. RYAM’s specialized assets, capable of creating the world’s leading high-purity cellulose products, are also used to produce biofuels, bioelectricity, and other biomaterials such as bioethanol and tall oils. The company also manufactures products for paper and packaging markets. The company operates four world-class facilities across the U.S., Canada, and France.

Houlihan Lokey served as the placement agent to RYAM, assisting the company in arranging, structuring, and negotiating the financing.
