Houlihan Lokey Advises Taurus Asset Management

Transaction: Taurus Asset - Management Mariner

Houlihan Lokey is pleased to announce that Taurus Asset Management, LLC (Taurus), a national registered investment advisor (RIA), has been acquired by Mariner Wealth Advisors (Mariner), a leading wealth management firm. This transaction closed on May 31, 2025.

Mariner, a national financial services firm, announced the acquisition of Taurus, a New York City-based wealth management firm with approximately $1.4 billion in assets under advisement. This deal, Mariner’s first in the area since 2014, establishes the firm’s second office in New York City and reinforces its commitment to strategically expanding its footprint in key financial markets.

Taurus was established in 2004 by Founder and Managing Principal Bradford Peck. Since 1996, Peck has advised professional and retired athletes, a niche he has carried with him throughout his career and his work with Taurus. The firm provides tailored wealth planning and investment management for high-net-worth individuals and families, with a specialized focus on serving clients in the National Hockey League.

Taurus offers a disciplined, research-driven investment philosophy rooted in fundamental equity analysis and a long-term, tax-efficient approach to capital growth. With a portfolio strategy centered on high-quality, undervalued companies that demonstrate resilience across economic cycles, the firm tailors each portfolio to meet the unique risk tolerance, income needs, and tax considerations of its clients. In addition to wealth and investment advisory services, Taurus offers integrated support across estate planning, tax preparation, insurance, and personal finance, ensuring a comprehensive approach to long-term financial well-being.

Following the transaction, Taurus adopted the Mariner name and branding, and the team continues to serve clients from its Madison Avenue location.

Houlihan Lokey acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Taurus.
