Mr. Ferrin is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Services Group and co-leads the firm’s Specialty Finance practice. He specializes in advising on M&A, capital raising, and other corporate finance engagements. Mr. Ferrin has approximately two decades of experience working primarily with commercial and consumer finance companies. He is based in the firm’s New York office.
Mr. Ferrin’s transaction experience includes advising Nations Capital on its sale to Gordon Brothers; Medshift on its debt financing; CURO’s creditor group on its restructuring; Axar Capital on its acquisition of StoneMor; Navient on the transfer of its Department of Education loan servicing contract/platform; Foxpoint Trucks on its debt refinancing; Flexiti Financial (POS finance) on its sale to CURO; 19th Capital (class 8 truck lessor) on its sale to Hilco; Merchants Automotive Group (fleet lessor) and Tricolor Auto on growth capital raises; Merchants Preferred (lease purchase) on its sale to Rent-A-Center; Pacific Rim Capital (MHE lessor) on its sale to Fuyo; JG Wentworth on its debt financing; Flex Fleet Rental (commercial truck rental) on its sales to both Kaizen Automotive Group and to Waterfall Asset Management; Mortgage Lenders of America on its sale to Zillow Group; ORIX USA on its acquisition of NXT Capital; Interstate Capital (factoring) on its sale to Triumph Bancorp; Key Health Group (medical receivable financing) on its merger with Oasis Financial; Creekridge Capital (equipment lessor) on its sale to Hitachi Capital America; Doral Financial on its sale of more than $1 billion of Puerto Rico-based performing and nonperforming residential and commercial mortgage loans; ORIX Corp. on its $2.6 billion acquisition of a 90% interest in Robeco Group; the U.S. Treasury with respect to the management and disposition of its CPP bank investments; and on the rescue financing/restructurings of CIT Group, Inc., and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., among others.
Mr. Ferrin graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Business and a concentration in Finance from Wake Forest University. He serves on the New York Leadership Council for Room to Grow.
