Mr. Shepherd is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Capital Markets Group and co-leads the firm’s Healthcare Capital Markets efforts. His primary responsibilities include working with the firm’s clients to raise debt and equity capital to support refinancings, recapitalizations, restructurings, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and growth capital initiatives, as well as advising companies on a wide range of capital structure matters. Mr. Shepherd is based in the firm’s Chicago office.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Shepherd was in Capital One’s Healthcare Banking and Lending unit (formerly GE Capital Healthcare Financial Services), where he most recently served as a Managing Director covering Healthcare Sponsor Finance. In his role, he led the financing of acquisitions of large and middle-market companies and portfolio add-ons for financial sponsors. Before Capital One’s acquisition of GE Capital Healthcare Financial Services, Mr. Shepherd was a Managing Director there for 10 years, leading investments for GE’s healthcare direct investment practice.
Mr. Shepherd holds a B.A. in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an MBA in Finance and Strategy from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
