Mr. Marks is a Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring Group. For more than a decade, he has specialized in assisting companies, creditors, and investors in restructuring and M&A transactions across industries such as manufacturing, retail, healthcare, financial services, technology, energy, and distribution. Mr. Marks is based in the firm's Chicago office.
Mr. Marks recently advised Briggs & Stratton on its asset and equity sale and DIP financing in Chapter 11; first lien lenders of Jason Industries on an in-court restructuring; Holiday Retirement on its out-of-court restructuring of three master leases; Element Fleet Management on its out-of-court sale of subsidiary 19th Capital; Orchids Paper Products on its asset sale and DIP financing in Chapter 11; and Promise Healthcare on its asset sale in Chapter 11.
Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Marks was a Director in Alvarez & Marsal’s restructuring group in San Francisco. Before that, he was an Associate at The Keystone Group, a boutique consulting firm in Chicago specializing in operational turnaround. Mr. Marks’ select clients prior to Houlihan Lokey include Walter Investment Management, Exide Technologies, Sandridge Energy, Gymboree, WestRock, FGX International (subsidiary of EssilorLuxottica), and SSAB Americas.
Mr. Marks holds a B.S. in Finance with high honors from Indiana University.
