Mr. Yamarone joined Houlihan Lokey’s Capital Markets Group in 2009, where he was a Managing Director from 2013 to 2015. In 2015, Mr. Yamarone became Chief Corporate Governance & Compliance officer in connection with Houlihan Lokey’s IPO and currently is responsible for all corporate governance matters, including internal audit and global compliance.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Yamarone was an Executive Vice President
of Libra Securities for 18 years. During that time, he served in a wide variety
of roles in all aspects of Libra’s business, including capital markets and
corporate finance transactions, sales and trading, research, legal, compliance,
operations, and administration. He also provided advisory services in numerous
mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings, and completed successful financings
with proceeds in excess of $1 billion in a wide variety of industries. Before
joining Libra in 1991, Mr. Yamarone was General Counsel of Columbia Savings and
practiced law at Heller Ehrman and Hufstedler Miller.
Since 1996, Mr. Yamarone has been a Director of the El Paso Electric Company (NYSE: EE), where he was elected Chairman of the Board in 2015. From January 1996 until June 2016, he was a member of the board of directors of United Continental Holdings (NYSE: UAL) and its predecessor, Continental Airlines. He has also served on the boards of several other publicly held corporations, including Bally’s Grand Las Vegas, LIVE Entertainment, and Vagabond Inns, as well as privately owned New Millennium Homes, developer of more than 700 luxury homes, including The Oaks at Calabasas.
Mr. Yamarone holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and a J.D. from Boalt Hall at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. He has been an active member of the California Bar Association since 1984.
