Mr. Jones is a Senior Vice President in Houlihan Lokey’s national Accounting and Financial Reporting Advisory service offering. He advises clients on complex financial reporting issues that surface in private and public M&A, debt and equity capital raises, and financial restructurings. Mr. Jones is based in the firm’s New York office.
Mr. Jones’ responsibilities involve delivering insights on accounting and financial reporting matters under U.S. GAAP and IFRS and offering informed advice in the preparation of registration statements and deal-related agreements. He has particular expertise in dealing with financial instruments matters, including debt and equity issuances, derivatives, hedging, securitizations, and the current expected credit loss model.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Jones worked within EY’s client-facing technical accounting advisory practice, where he focused on complex technical matters related to financial instruments. He also advised clients on financial reporting matters related to bankruptcies and fresh-start accounting. Before that, Mr. Jones worked for the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, where he focused on technical topics such as revenue recognition, conduit debt arrangements, and financial statement disclosures.
Mr. Jones holds a B.S. and a Master of Accountancy from Brigham Young University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York.
