Christopher Winchenbaugh

Managing Director Global Co-Head of Oil & Gas Group

Mr. Winchenbaugh is a Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Houlihan Lokey’s Oil & Gas Group. He has more than two decades of experience in investment banking and combines significant market expertise with deep operational and management expertise. Mr. Winchenbaugh is based in the firm’s Boston office.

Previously, Mr. Winchenbaugh co-founded and served as President and COO of Intrepid Financial Partners, which was acquired by Houlihan Lokey in 2026. Before that, he was COO of Barclays, Americas, as well as Barclays’ Global Investment Banking Division. While there, Mr. Winchenbaugh was a member of the Investment Banking Executive Committee, the Americas Management Committee, and the Senior Leadership Group, which consisted of the top 150 employees globally. 

Prior to assuming executive COO roles, Mr. Winchenbaugh held several senior capital markets positions at Barclays, where he was the head of all product origination groups in the Americas, including Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Hybrid Capital, Fixed Income and Equity Derivatives, Securitization, Loans, Restructuring, Private Placements, and Project Finance. Earlier, he was Head of Debt Capital Markets, Americas, which also included Securitization and Project Finance. Before joining Barclays, Mr. Winchenbaugh worked for Lehman Brothers, where he served as Head of Global Debt Capital Markets and Head of U.S. Debt Capital Markets. During his tenure there, he ran the Convertible Origination business from 2003 to 2005 and was a senior member of the Debt Capital Markets business, where he covered power, natural resources, and telecom/media/technology. 

At both Lehman Brothers and Barclays, Mr. Winchenbaugh either ran or participated in the Investment Banking Commitment Committee and Loan Participation Committee, which were responsible for evaluating all capital markets and loan transactions within the investment banking division. While at both firms, he spearheaded the recruiting effort at Kellogg and was instrumental in establishing mentorship programs within investment banking. 

Mr. Winchenbaugh holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from College of the Holy Cross and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
