Elliot Evers

Senior Advisor

Mr. Evers is a Senior Advisor in Houlihan Lokey’s Technology Group. He specializes in U.S.-based television and radio transactions. Mr. Evers is based in the firm’s San Francisco office.

Previously, Mr. Evers worked at MVP Capital, an independent advisory firm that provided a range of advisory services to clients in the media, technology, and telecommunications sectors, which was acquired by Houlihan Lokey in 2020. He co-founded MVP Capital in 1987, and while at MVP, he directed the firm’s Media Group, which handled more than $3 billion in broadcast transactions in almost every market in the U.S.

Some of Mr. Evers’ recent deals include the sale of radio stations in Orlando and Tampa for Cox Media Group (controlled by Apollo) as well as stations in Memphis and Buffalo for Audacy Atlas, Inc. Notably, he has served as Divestiture Trustee for Audacy, Cumulus Media, Cox, CBS, and several other major broadcasters—these are prestigious appointments, as they require a client to place its assets in a trust overseen by the trustee. Mr. Evers has handled sales of stations in major markets, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Boston, for a variety of clients. His clients include Audacy, Cumulus, Entravision, iHeart, and many others.

Mr. Evers holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley, and a diplôme semestriel from the University of Paris (The Sorbonne). He also holds a J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, as he practiced law for several years, representing radio and television stations. Mr. Evers serves on the board of directors of Greenbelt Alliance, an open-space advocacy organization working to promote smart development in the nine Bay Area counties. He often speaks at industry conferences, and he frequently provides advice to industry lenders and investors.
