Mr. Coutts is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring Group and has been with the firm for 15 years. He has advised numerous companies and creditor groups in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings across a wide range of industries. Mr. Coutts has also provided clients with a variety of other investment banking services, including M&A, financing, and valuation. He is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
Mr. Coutts’ notable transactions include the restructurings of Millennium Health, Synergy Pharmaceuticals, Concordia Healthcare, Elements Behavioral Health, 21st Century Oncology, Molycorp, Physiotherapy Associates, THQ, Rural/Metro Corp., KV Pharmaceutical, M*Modal, Windsor Petroleum, Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, Global Aviation, Chemtura Corp., and Frontier Airlines Holdings.
Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Coutts was a member of the Assurance and Advisory Business Services group at Ernst & Young, where he advised a variety of public companies.
Mr. Coutts graduated with highest honors from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley with a B.S. in Business Administration and holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is also a Certified Public Accountant licensed in California.
