Mr. Werntz is a Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Capital Markets Group. He has spent more than a decade in investment banking, with a dedicated focus on raising growth equity, structured equity, and other customized equity and debt capital securities for corporate, family-run, and sponsor-backed clients. Mr. Werntz is based in the firm’s San Francisco office.
Mr. Werntz’s capital markets experience prior to joining Houlihan Lokey includes successful capital raises for Versa, Pivotal Commware, Dialpad, Securonix, Saviynt, Astranis, and Coveo, with use of proceeds for these raises including growth equity, recapitalizations, acquisition financing, and balance sheet recapitalizations. His investor relationships span growth equity, venture capital, private equity, direct lenders, mutual funds, hedge funds, sovereign wealth, pensions, and family offices.
Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Werntz worked in the Equity Capital Markets group at Citigroup, where he focused on capital raises for corporate clients primarily in the technology, media, and telecom sectors. Prior to that, he was an investment banker at Bank of America, J.P. Morgan, and Blackstone Advisory Partners. During that time, Mr. Werntz spent two years working in corporate development executing acquisitions at Akamai, a publicly traded company.
Mr. Werntz holds a B.A. in Business Economics from Brown University.
