Mr. Sommer is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Oil & Gas Group. He is based in the firm’s New York office.
Previously, Mr. Sommer was Head of Mergers & Acquisitions at Intrepid Financial Partners, which was acquired by Houlihan Lokey in 2026. Before that, he held senior roles at Deutsche Bank Securities, including Global Co-Head of the Natural Resources Group, Head of Energy Investment Banking, and Head of Natural Resources Mergers & Acquisitions. Earlier, Mr. Sommer was a senior investment banker at Citigroup Global Markets. He has spent a significant portion of his ~30-year career providing strategic advice to senior executives and boards of directors of numerous North American and global energy companies.
Mr. Sommer holds a B.A. from Bucknell University.
