Mr. Poorman is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Services Group. He has more than two decades of investment banking experience, focused primarily on the insurance services and claims services sectors. Mr. Poorman is based in the firm’s Chicago office.
Mr. Poorman has advised on many significant transactions prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, including those involving Davies Group, Sedgwick, Alacrity, Gallagher Bassett, and Cor Partners.
Previously, Mr. Poorman was a Managing Director at Waller Helms Advisors, which was acquired by Houlihan Lokey in 2024. At Waller Helms Advisors, he provided M&A, capital-raising, and valuation advice to a variety of insurance services and other insurance-related companies nationwide. Before that, Mr. Poorman was a Partner and Managing Director at StoneRidge Advisors, LLC, an insurance-focused investment banking firm. Earlier, he was a Managing Director at Cochran Caronia Waller, an investment banking boutique serving the insurance industry. Mr. Poorman started his investment banking career as an Analyst in the insurance group at Salomon Smith Barney.
Mr. Poorman holds a B.B.A. with honors in Accounting and Finance from the University of Michigan.
