Jeffrey Andrews, MAI, MRICS
Director Head of Real Estate Valuation and Advisory ServicesMr. Andrews is a Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial and Valuation Advisory business, where he leads the firm’s Real Estate Valuation and Advisory Services practice. Focusing on valuation of real estate and real estate entities, he specializes in complex matters, with specific expertise in issues pertaining to REITs and real estate funds. He has expertise across a wide variety of property types, with significant experience in most major asset classes. Mr. Andrews has more than 25 years of extensive real estate analytical experience working with large portfolios and has valued some of the largest recent real estate portfolio transactions. He specializes in valuation and consulting pertaining to real estate, including financial reporting, portfolio valuation, transaction opinions, market analysis, litigation support, and due diligence. Mr. Andrews is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
Mr. Andrews’ recent experience includes conducting a fairness opinion for a $18.7 billion portfolio acquisition; providing a fairness opinion in an exchange ratio transaction considering more than 70 properties; valuing more than 90 properties on behalf of a family trust for estate and gift tax purposes; leading the purchase price allocation for a REIT acquisition of 359 senior living and healthcare facilities; and acting as an expert witness in a valuation dispute regarding a major entertainment complex.
Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Andrews served as a Senior Director in Alvarez & Marsal’s Real Estate Advisory Services Group. Prior to that, he was a Director in Duff & Phelps’ Real Estate Services Group and a Vice President in the Corporate Value Consulting Group at Standard & Poor’s.
Mr. Andrews earned a B.S. in Real Estate from San Diego State University. He holds the MAI designation awarded by the Appraisal Institute and is a professional member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). Mr. Andrews is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) and is a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in multiple jurisdictions.
