Mr. Cowan is General Counsel Europe for Houlihan Lokey, with responsibility for legal and compliance matters within the firm’s European offices as well as covering Dubai, Singapore, and China (including Hong Kong). Mr. Cowan also sits on a number of boards and committees within Houlihan Lokey’s European corporate group. He is based in the firm’s London office.
Mr. Cowan was formerly a solicitor with Herbert Smith and has extensive experience in a range of regulatory matters and transactions, including public and private M&A, listings, financings, and securities matters. He trained at Simmons & Simmons following law school. Prior to that, he was an analyst within the Japanese warrants department of Barings Securities.
Mr. Cowan graduated from Exeter University with a degree in Economics and took his Law Society Finals at Guildford College of Law.
