Mr. Mendel is a Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Business Services Group and a senior officer in the firm’s Environmental Services practice. He has more than a decade of investment banking experience advising private and public companies on M&A, strategic alternatives, special situations, activism defense, and capital markets. Mr. Mendel is based in the firm’s New York office.
Mr. Mendel’s notable transaction experience includes advising Shamrock Environmental on its sale to Republic Services; Reworld on its significant minority equity raise led by GIC; General Dynamics on its sale of EBV to Arcwood Environmental (fka Heritage Environmental); SK Capital on its acquisition of Milestone Environmental; JF Lehman & Co. on its take-private acquisition of Heritage-Crystal Clean; VLS Environmental Solutions on its sale to I Squared Capital; and US Ecology on its sale to Republic Services.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Mendel worked at Centerview Partners. Before that, he was a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Citi. Previously, Mr. Mendel worked at Booz Allen Hamilton in the Strategy and Organization division.
Mr. Mendel holds a B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
